British Columbia issued 268 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC candidates in a draw held December 19.
Invitations were issued to Express Entry BC and BC PNP Skills Immigration Stream candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories as well as the Skills Immigration Entry Level and Semi-Skilled category.
B.C.’s Express Entry Stream is linked to the federal Express Entry system, which manages the profiles of candidates for Canada’s three main federal economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Canadian Experience Class.
Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination from the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) are awarded an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
Candidates who obtain a nomination through the BC PNP Skills Immigration Stream will have their applications for Canadian permanent residence processed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) outside the Express Entry system.
Individuals interested in applying for immigration to Canada under the Skills Immigration or Express Entry streams must first create an online profile using the BC PNP’s online registration system and submit a completed form. Candidate profiles are assessed and assigned a score based on various factors, such as education, work experience and other factors.
All candidates invited in this draw also had to demonstrate an indeterminate, full-time job offer from an employer in the province.
